Slewmaster - CFA vs. VFA "Rumble"

Is anyone use IPS like this?
This have round clipping...

I'm building another Infidel IPS. Using the schematic from post #5753. I installed everything just like the schematic. I guess that makes it option #2. Will that work for +-74V rails?

Thanks, Terry

Yes, the current on the infidel is set by fixed resistors. The default schema is
my standard +/- 75V simulation.
Included are the 40V values noted to "get the picture across" (or for testing - my test
PS is 40-0-40).

Hey , Terry ... put this one in the freezer/fridge and bring up to room temp. 😀
Bet it beats the spook or wolverine 5.0 > 5.3ma (0C > 25C)

"simitri"

Symetri = spooky without the cascode loss and a little less THD than the hawksford.
it does saturate a little (same as the hawksford).

Not as "rounded" as the super-pair overload wise.
I just added the symetri VAS to the "spook" - adjusted currents.
(below) ... works perfect. 🙂
This might be my future "hungry sub" IPS.

PS - there was a member from Chile that actually built one of these -
forgot his name .... was in the "supersym" thread.

Edit - I got 8 ppm 20K (100W) !!

Excellent VFA

And a simple one , too.

-NO servo (ccs adj.1-2 can control offset)
- Bimo's VAS offsets the omission of cascodes 😎
- only 2 volt wasted rail voltage , good for subs.
- A 10 transistor "wonder" @ .001% THD20k - 100w /6R.
-thermally ... VAS offsets input pairs - nearly perfectly.

Should not scare the first time " oh, there is too many transistors" crowd ! 😀
edit - "downside" - VAS is X2 the I (front pair and back pair @ 5.3ma - 10.6ma)
This VAS will need a small heatsink.

Very nice! Layout?
