why do men think they are smarter then the rest of nature. what if were way dummer. Yes, we can process more and likely understand more concept. but still, were not different then the animal kingdom.
I believe a plant, a ant, cat and human all are sentient being, with a freewill and real and own sense of ego, desire , ect. Some consciousness are much more subtle, some even less then us. but I never understand why some people think we as human are so more advanced then the rest of the animals. its complete balloney.
I believe im even dumber, spiritually, then my cat. much dumber actually 🙂 🙁

We need to protect the earth,
However the sun has a limited life, the earth itself is evolving.
A species locked to one planet is doomed.
What about the animals birds and other life on the earth, are they going to evolve and become intelligent.
Can you see a world with talking creatures in the future?
How would they view us if they became intelligent in the future?
The world is ours by default.?.
What if by some strange happening another creature became more intelligent than us? Lets have a bit of fun lets say a virus! or something small!
Oups cyber dyne systems biological computer..connected to some form of life..
LOL..perhaps the story of the day the earth stood still is more important than we think..a race of peace keeping robots..controlling us..(protecting the planet) 😀

we as human must understand the origin of what?
I believe in the buddha, the dharma, and nothing else when it comes to understanding reality.
we must understand the law of our own selves. The reason of our existence is not unexplainable. but you have to be willing to work and practise to understand what is your mind.
lol, anyways, im so happy to have found buddhism and encourage everybody to look into the dharma!

But there is no end. With each new discovery there are new problems associated with it for which new explanations are required in order to validate the previous discoveries. Until of course the myth is finally debunked. Just this month alone, I noticed there is new math proving black holes actually do not exist and the Higgs Boson was actually not discovered after all. Einstein's Space-Time theory has serious problems yet to be reconciled. What there is no end to is our denial that we as subjects of existence do not have the capability to explain it's origin. It's like commanding a stone to become conscious.

If you go from the basis of when the universe didn't exist then there was nothing.
When the big bang happened 2 universes were created a positive one and a negative one.
This keeps the balance of everything summing to zero.

Zen I've used it many times in fault location..
However as you say I tend to believe all life has free will, even if that life is unaware of it!
The problem of "On the verge of self destruction" cannot be removed by politics only by removing ignorance. This is where the problem is in my opinion. The only way to remove ignorance is learning, the only problem in learning is truth. The problem with truth is ignorance!
It is said that when the student is ready the teacher will appear..its an interesting saying.
The problem regarding truth requires a tool which would appear to be science at this point in time.
So lets assume just for a moment that there is no life after death, and the universe is not alive..if that could be proved beyond all doubt what would be the impact of "on the verge of self destruction!"
Lets look at it another way if it could be proved beyond doubt that there is life after death and it was a scientific fact not requiring belief of any kind what effect would that have of "on the verge of self destruction".
Lets explore another lets say they had found life on the comet with no interaction with mankind.
I don't believe the answers to "on the verge of self destruction" lie here on earth with us! I think we need a discovery that stops everyone in their tracks and either makes them afraid of cause and effect or removes ego!
In a nut shell I think its discovery that will remove the threat! (Only my opinion) 😀
Ie the human race are not the Alfa and omega of all things even if we think we are..we need to dissolve our problems. If one person holds a gun to another's head and says you will not fight this is not peace its subjugation even if it stops destruction. Its the story of mankind since the bow and arrow..we are no more advanced as a civilisation now as then we just have technology.
Here is one more quite sad thought imagine we were the only life in the galaxy and there is no afterlife, also that technology cannot answer how to travel to another life supporting planet its just to far to go!...what would the effect of that be?
How much of mankind's dreams or ideologies effect what we believe or think the future holds? Ie the future is in the balance based upon what we believe to be true!

Something wrong with the maths..😀
Its like saying in the beginning there was nothing.
Then suddenly the big bang.<<what does it expand into....🙂
I think you need to expand on the nothing...😀
Nothing cannot be named it doesn't exist..because even empty space isn't nothing.

Who said nothing represents empty space? Non-existence is just that, nothing. Now that's a sad thought. Truth is not found in technology. Is there free will without reason?

The mankind thinks they are smarter than nature( plants, animals...)
simply because they are. An animal is incapable of doing evil because
it is not a person. You can not ask an animal to come to court and
give testimony to an event. You can not expect of an animal to become
an artist or an inventor. People use them as they see fit for a good cause.
It is interesting though that I have never heard an animal been called
a human, but have heard plenty of times that men can be pigs, donkeys,
monkeys and so on.
I guess that, with regard to the universe, "nothing" and "infinity" are two forms of the same problem: we have no clue...I think you need to expand on the nothing...😀

of course humans are more intelligent than plants. 😉
but if i use my intelligence to make nuclear bombs,
and that once, in my logical successful process required to build such a complex machine, i fail
.... and i hit the lauch button, without knowing that there may be better alternatives.
then this basically equals pushing the intelligence ''reset button''
thus in this case human intelligence has no meaning.
we are as strong as our weakest link...methinks.
with great power comes great responsibility... like tobey mcguire said...
i'm not saying that for instance, hiroshima wasnt the best option at the time, given our knowledge.
maybe it was the best preventive move, but the more we understand the human nature, the more we come up with better alternatives.
like for instance , we used to kill and torture prisonners and witches.....now we see that less and less in modern societies.

Humans are capable of some extraordinary achievements and
the intelligence is constantly developing. This is a good thing.
Will it be used for the good or the bad, is uncertain.
Take your example, nuclear bombs. They are said to be and it is
true, a terrible weapon. It was demonstrated in a very clear fashion.
This attitude, I am powerful, I have the horrible weapon, can only
make the other side wish to have the same in order to feel safe.
What worries me is will they have enough common sense of not
using it.
Because they don't trust each other, the weapons will be kept
just in case. That's an illness of human soul.
Even more powerfull and effective weapon is words. They hit you
right in the heart and I don't mean a blood pump. They can kill one and
they can resurrect one. The choice is on humans and they will answer
for it.

I think you and others here are mistaken if you think discovery is a matter of intelligence. The development of the human race has been a slow, progressive, collective one. The rate of cumulative knowledge is closely tied to the rate of population growth. This is the only reason we still exist on this planet. Intelligence has to do with intuitive perception. God help us if there ever arise a single individual capable of even a fraction of the knowledge we've accumulated en masse. Even so, we've abundantly shown we're way too smart for our own good!
Not intelligence only, of course.I think you and others here are mistaken if you think discovery is a matter of intelligence.
What is the only reason? This is the only reason we still exist on this planet.
Me? I call that capability the internet. What is the net if it's not a fraction of the knowledge we've accumulated?God help us if there ever arise a single individual capable of even a fraction of the knowledge we've accumulated en masse.
Not intelligence only, of course.

Yes, it clearly takes a level of cognitive ability to add two and two.
What is the only reason? Time my friend.
The ability to read doesn't give you authorship. The net is no different than a library.
I've heard they landed a flying machine on a very fast moving comet, far far away from Earth; is that true?

Yes, but it quit working.
The machine, with its onboard measuring instrumentation?
Bummer; the comet must be going too fast, or the temperature is too low or too high.
...Or it broke down from falling debris (meteorite rocks). ...The machine. ...Is it NASA man-made (made in the USA)?

It's true that accumulation is not equal to creation. The ability to read doesn't give you authorship. The net is no different than a library.
And I would argue the net is much more than the traditional library.
I'll close with my own superficiality:
What is the known universe expanding into?
Why, into the unknown universe.

It depends on how you look at it. I guess I got lost in your translation. My apologies.
