See: Madman Muntz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"He often carried a pair of wire clippers, and when he thought that one of his employees was "over-engineering" a circuit, he would begin snipping components out until the picture or sound stopped working. At that point, he would tell the engineer "Well, I guess you have to put that last part back in" and walk away."

Still4given added the "Csp1/ 2" . Super-pair has no native Ccb (capacitance).
Kyptons were the first with Baxandalls , Stillforgiven made the first (second 😀)
oscillator 😱 .
OPS might oscillate without these !!!
15-22pF will do for these.
(below) shows this. Kypton-C already has these as main compensation.

That's precisely what I would advice. Thx!
Besides, compared with the PMP or PGP amp, it has already been "Muntzed". 🙂

Cheers, E.

Give me a break , Ed ! I only "muntz" enough to get it (the designs) to the
soldering table. The TIS can not be muntzed to <18 semi's to serve its
true purpose (sub PPM perf.) - the way it is... :treasure: .
PS - Thimios ... you have become EXTREMELY refined in the toner transfer prototype
department !! WOW

Comin' right along ... EFA

"excellent flippin' amp" is progressing nicely 😎 .

Hawksford and the "H" bridge stages are nearly "mirror image". Comp.
Caps are short traces to ND- PD+. (below 1)

The 2 diamond inputs are the only ones that need "face to face" coupling.

I have a feeling this amp will "fly". Really linear at 170v p-p - low THD -
with the CFA's slew rate .
It will "eat" square waves of this magnitude , as well ! 😱

Finally decided what Thimios will "wrap with copper" (below)

For a "fast" IPS , all traces must be "short and sweet" .... they
cant meander or run parallel (with other traces) for a long distance.

I added some parasitic trace capacitances to the rails of the IPS (in LT) ,
my initial .1uf decoupling negates them nicely.

This layout should be capable of (at least) 300V/us with the slewmaster
OPS.

I also thermally modeled the whole circuit - slightly negative co-efficient.
this is preferable (to a positive one).

All this is where "the rubber hits the road" -

When I have a real amp , all this will be physically resolved before the
"road". I just want to design to make Thimios's life care free. 🙂

PS - I thought I would share some of the "moonshine madness" that
goes into these designs (in real time - live) "I think i'm alive" (or is this a dream 😀).

I'm actually working on the design, rather similar to the top picture with AD844, but with my own discrete operational amplifier with OTA topology 🙂
Lots of current mirrors 🙄 Another "crazy" thing 😛 But looks promising...
