More Help with Eagle

Since this is a totally different problem than my last call for help, I thought a new thread would be best.
I am having great difficulty getting my 'nets' to connect to components in the schematic. I get what looks like a nice schematic drawn and when i do an ERC, nothing (well, 80%) is connected! I get error messages like 'trace overlaps pin' or 'no connection to net26'. Redoing everything multiple times will improve the percentage that 'catch' but there must be an easier way to do this. What am I doing wrong or not doing right? Is there a trick to connecting the net to components?
Thanks

oops using eagle since early 90s I might overlook your problem.
If you pick a component with the move command, the wire follows, if attached. Unattached component leave the wire alone.

That's how I finally figured out what was and wasn't attached, but it still takes me many tries to get the net to 'land' on the right spot to create a connection. I think all is well, I move the component, the net stays were it was, unattached. Delete net, repeat. Sometimes 5 or 6 times to get a connection. Definitely not time efficient. (but then again, I am retired and doing this for fun so my time isn't worth much😉)
Oh, I am using 'net' not 'wire' (some tutorial said to do this). Is 'wire' better?

Wow! Very simple solution.
1) DO use NETS and not WIRES
2) Turn on the PINS layer (not visible by default) and make it a brilliant color. Now you can see exactly where to click when connecting nets. I knew it had to be something simple and stupid I was doing wrong. Hope this helps someone else!
