Heres a good start understanding gain structure http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/diyaudio-com-articles/186018-what-gain-structure.html
they are usually around 1V sensitive for nominal power.
Mine is also 1V rms input sensitivity and I see no problem. The print for the DCB1 arrived today and i'm sure....a no gain stage will do much than enough on my main amplifier!
Scorpion DCB1...on the late
After too loooonnnng a time, my Hotrodded DCB1 is almost finished (me, my wife and my two kids were away for the last 3 months on a trip troughout North America covering almost all of Canada and USA....great memories for the rest of our life).
I have included some pics of my build.
Also, the thread '' DCB1 resistor tryouts'' will go back to life as I will start the resistors swappings real soon and report on the results...
My measurements are as follow:
LED Voltage: 10,08v and 10,12v
DC Offset: 1,6mV and 2,1mV
Voltage drop (across the CCS resistors @ 1,25R): 1,20V and 1,47V
Therefore, am I good to go?
Thanks

Good to go. For perfectionism you could try bit stronger LEDS in the 1.20V side triplet at a point so to go nearer to the 1.47V of the other side. Its the VGS differences in MOSFETS that makes one side weaker when everything else is matched.
As for the enclosure work, what can we say? Magnificent.
Thanks for the usual ultra quick answer Salas.
Should I take a stronger LED triplet to increase the 1,20V side or a weaker one the 1,47V side to get closer to 1,20V per side.
In other words, what's optimal, to get closer to 1,20V or to 1,47V ?
Thanks again

And some more...
Outstanding craftsmanship there Scorpion. Well done.
Thanks domyboy. Did my best with equipment on hands and limited knowledge in machining...but loved the journey.
I will post pics of the fully assembled preamp at the beginning of the week (targeting Monday or Tuesday).
BTW, (for those interested) engraving was done @ A-Z Pentograv, anodizing @ Verdun Anodizing and machining of the round corners and the 60° bevel of the frontplate @ Lindax Machining. All from the Montreal area.
