I never checked into it, but they do make 600v 70 amp units, n channel, "power mesh". so the possibilities are there.. I will check into it now.. This forum should be called DIT, Do it together.impossible being the key word. 260V into 200V parts. it don't get more impossible then that 😀

Never doubt the "master" those devices are 550v @ 48A that's 26.4 Kw each, WoW. Build it I will... I took waht was impossible, and with help, made it "real". I told the "wizard "we need isotops", and he delivered. You look at the "blueprint" and it is simple, the variable resistor, if it is for bias control, was no accident. it is for future upgrades, where NASA meets audio...Of course, with the right tweaking it becomes the SIT/250, if that is what it's for... The 50wpc hot burning amp that has "headroom", and that's not even the "BIG" one. I have plans for the future, and that is to re-invent the "radio" All of this from a high school dropout, the mechanic, the cnc machinist, the guy who's ready to loose it all, by forclosure, the genius, but it all could not have been done without the help of the "Man", the one who supports all of us in our goals, and for that we give "thanks" because we just re-wrote history on DIY>....... The world will never be the same... EVER!

Done deal...Build it, dude.

There was a lot done "behind" the scenes to make this "real", and I owe my next born to Mr. Pass. he gave a present to all of us, the x1000 he never made, the aleph 1000 he only dreampt of, now becomes "real" no compromises and no "ClunK". The dream amp of millions, affordable by only the "well to do"... But can you, just for a minute imagine "what it can really do", and it is excellence in simplicity, because I wanted it that way.. Somewhere in history books, shall be words, the signs of the prophets are written on the subway walls... (simon and garfunkel, the sound of silence)

The maximum voltage times the maximum current rating are not the power
rating of the device.
Also, look at the Safe Operating Area curves of the device. You will usually
find that some of the very high wattage parts do not meet those figures at DC
values. Also, the figures must be derated against temperature, and you will
be anticipating lots of that - The heat sink will be hotter than the ambient,
the case will be hotter than the heat sink and the transistor junction will be
hotter than the case, all in proportion to the dissipated power and the
sum of the thermal resistances of all these heat paths.
How big a heat sink are you anticipating?

Maybe it's to warm the dark side of the moon? (our moon, not the song or album)
heat sink
The heat sinks weigh 4 lbs/pr. I will thermostatically keep the junction temp in the sweet spot, the most linear, can we make this go to 1.8 MHZ?, I have a use for that on 160 meters... Of course Miller is interested as you can weld with it, you can thaw your gutters of ice, you can heat your home, that is were the fact of efficency comes in. You reclaim wasted energy.
Kudos to you,
I'm the "engineer" that will see this through, just need answers to my questions, then it's a done deal.

Heat again
Rob
The heat sinks can be "ANY" temp, even below ambient.. Ha! There is no LIMIT! You can carry the power supplies and the amp, yep.. I just wish I had a printer...The maximum voltage times the maximum current rating are not the power
rating of the device.

I am sorry for a very basic question.
can somebody or Mr Pass himself can help to explain
1. is that possible to doable the output Tr with this front end ?
2. What the limit for more output TR ?

I guess I can't, I don't even know what it means, unless your talking about 4 ohms, where the power doubles. And it will double in true aleph form, this amp is the aleph 1000 but done a different way, the Chernobyl 1, with Mu Follower design, The way around CCS. It's the same thing only different. I can't imagine what I would have to pay for CCS, or the drawing and this awesome man, gave to us, is worth a million words, if a picture is worth a thousand. So, together as a group, we flip the world on their heads!I am sorry for a very basic question.

That is what I was told..70 IRFP240 per ch? With +/-130VDC?

dark side

If you never saw it, you need to. Pink floyd "dark side of the moon" in HD. I dont even know how they made that video, it seems just plain "impossible". Type in on youtube "dark side of the moon ranger" Unreal! I know "supercomputers" can do wild stuff, but really? A video? OMG!Maybe it's to warm the dark side of the moon? I just took my psyc meds, since I am labeled "crazy", a homicidal female, I guess you have to be "crazy" to do this, and I will. "Ozzy, diary of a madman"... But I will finish what I started, what seemed ominous, I, with help, turned in to "simple". The schematic for this amp is just that. It is simpler than my aleph 3. I hope it was done right, there seems to be a question about the follower, and since it was MU Monster, it had to be included.. Though I would have to research it further.... Take care and goodnight...

Ps: I did, in the past call torroid corp of maryland, the 3 phase ( torroids) will cost $1800 or so, maybe each, I don't remember, they are 3 donuts stacked, but in the end, even though you are left with, after rectification, near dc, you still need caps, and they aren't cheap. Is it a cheaper soluton, Yep, heavy, sure. And FORGET single phase, that went out the "window"... Not at these power levels. I will stick to my supplies, while almost $10,000, they are what they are... Dream on..

Ps: can we double the voltage and triple the current? I'm getting bored already... Sorta...
OK, who invented this "Name"?Elsewhere on the forum our friend Rob (n3szd) wants to build a 1000 watt
single-ended amplifier.
On the one hand, I sympathize with excess enthusiasm in a project.
On the other hand, I take no responsibility for the results of posting the
following schematic.
Anyone who attempts to build such a thing is probably asking for trouble.
You have been warned...

The most expensive parts for such a project must actually be the heatsink. The max. temperature above ambient should be not more than 25° C for high reliability.Elsewhere on the forum our friend Rob (n3szd) wants to build a 1000 watt

That is the cheapest part, way cheaper than the outputs by like 10/1... I wouldn't be sitting here gloating if that was the case, the power supplies cost the most, by a long shot! 15KW just doesn't grow on trees..The most expensive parts for such a project must actually be the heatsink. Ehm...
Reading this thread I came to following assumptions:
1. Rob won the lottery
2. Rob has very inefficient speakers
3. Rob is not building an amp, he needs an electric heater for winter time. He will connect it with central heating system 😀
P.s. Rob, why don't you build a line array, bottom to ceiling, with your favourite fullrange drivers? At least you will have enough power for it.
If I won the lottery, I would build this amp, and a line array with Feastrex speakers 😀
