Interesting to play with and supremely simple to build - very compact. Should probably be a sub?
I dunno, I've found that many bright full range drivers sound better choked down a bit with a BBC type slot. My theory is that part of this is due to blocking some of the break up nasties coming from the surround and outer edge of the cone. Over-damped type drivers also sometimes simply seem to prefer the loading.
FWIW I compared BBC slots in rectangular vs round vs elliptical with two different drivers. In both cases the rectangular sounded better to me. Perhaps the RJ lemon is better yet.

Yes, aspect ratio makes a difference. The added surface drag is accounted for if I recall correctly.
