Guys, I m not sure if I ll do that, but due to the lack of time I consider selling my assembled dac with psu. I tested it once with no sound, but I am really not even sure if all connections were put together right. 99% soldering is good, I suspect only xo not to be soldered as pads were too small (most difficult part), but as I said- everything soldered with V values being correct. I have no time to play with diy now, but need music , so instead I ll buy other assembled dac, sort of swapping devices.
Plus I build filter buffer (JG) to go with Subbu.
Basically, if interest is here, I ll post pics of devices, PM me with offer.
If no, I ll wait till time allows and finish it 🙂
If you take some pictures and post them to the build thread I'm sure folks, including myself would be happy to take a look to see what we see.
Have you taken voltage measures across the board? There are some posts with expected voltages near the start of the build thread. It is a quick way to see where things might be suspect. It might be something simple...

Hi all
If the unknown magic number is reached, I'll handle the parts GB 😉

Never met a goat I didn't like...
This remark makes you first in line.
Requested a kit and an extra PSU. I just noticed I enjoy building PSUs almost as much as the audio part.. 🙂
I settled for one kit as I bought one assembled with the JG buffer. The JG buffer is not assembled yet so I can't tell if or how it affects SQ. First impression is that it is a bit raw if I compare it to my other SPDIF capable DAC - a Wolfson 8741 with 8804.
But then again it was just 30mins ago I got it working 😉 So I need to listen a bit more... As I assumed it isn't bad fed from a Shigaclone MKII. Actually not bad at all 🙂

If it is a V3 you bought: it needs a few days to settle. Those don't sound raw, on the contrary...

Yes, Jean-Paul it is a V3... I'll keep it hot for a few days and give my verdict if it is of use for anyone.

Please do so. It is a pleasure for us to read the verdicts 😉 Maybe your verdict can persuade the very last benchsitter...
