Hi
planning to build a sub for my hifi system. Unfortunately my preamp only has a single pair of preout.
planning to use an external amp to drive the sub.

Is there any external processor which can convert line in into rca preout and also has a built in xover LP and aubsonic filter HP. Idea is not to use a plate amp but an external amp.
thanks

Richie00boy,
nice controller u have there. But there is only rca input. I need a speaker level/hi level input as i only have 1pair preout from pre whic is being use for 2ch stereo

Notice the minidsp do not support speaker in/hi level in as i do not have additional preout from pre

You need an active crossover.
That will have the added benefit of unloading your regular speakers from low frequencies.
I once bought an active car crossover with many controls (crossover low pass frequency, sub phase, sub high pass, sub mono and a sub volume control) for something like $25 at Radio shack.
It had a single pair of RCA in and 2 pair of RCA out.
Shop around.

You can split a single pre out with two Y junctions that have one male to two female ends, this is what I had to do to feed two subs and one amp. There is no noticeable degradation of sound with the cardas splitters I added.

Thanks, SS4927, that's what I was implying to do.

Sorry dude, sometimes surfing requires speed reading and I missed that part. Besides that I actually really like those dsps and going to purchase one for 6 channel active. They make some seemingly very nice and versatile stuff. I still wish hypex will get of their butts and start selling theyre wears over here canada already.
