It looks like the Fairchild Stealth ISL9R8120P2 diode is no longer available, not at DigiKey or Newark.
Can anyone suggest a suitable substitute ? A while back someone suggested this one
Invalid Request Fairchild RHRP15120
Is it a suitable one ?

I was the one who recommended the RHRP15120 . Unfortunately my transformers haven't arrived from Edcor yet, so I can't discuss any results from testing. I studied the datasheets well though and on paper it looks like a perfectly adequate replacement. It can handle a bit more current than the discontinued one but is a bit slower at switching (this shouldn't even be noticeable at mains frequency).
Anyway I'll post results when my transformers arrive.

Thanks for your response, hope to hear about the result of your tests.
I can confirm that these work beautifully with the SSE.
Thanks, good to know that.
