So, if Russia is slapped with a trade embargo, what happens to our suppliers of Russian made tubes? Does anyone think this could happen?

Russian valves will still find theie way into the US......... the is no trade embargo planned like in Cuba.
There is also no reason for supplies to "dy up " if there is still world wide demand for them.
The same can be applied to the great Russian vodka. 🙂.

How do 6BG6s sound as output tubes?
Antique Radio Forums • View topic - 6L6 vs the 6BG6
I don't have a clue "how they sound". If it sounds like "something" then there's probably something wrong somewhere. It appears to be the same as a 6L6 but with a different pinout.
I found a strange patent while searching for 6BG6 references.

A magnet is held close to the tube to affect the electron beam. Getting tubes too close to magnets usually isn't recommended because they can magnetize the parts. Maybe a magnetic field can be used to reduce distortion and start a new tube craze.

The internals of vacuum tubes are made from pure nickel, a magnetic material. As such, the are sensitive to EMI and should be protected from all sources. Hanging tubes out in the air like they are some kind of laundry is a bad practice in my opinion.
General Radio, the great grand daddy of test gear, made a noise source that was a particular vacuum tube placed between two strong magnets. I used to have one a long time ago.

Nuggets, Vol. 9: Acid Rock - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
which I used to listen to years ago using a stereo 2 stage EF86/6267 preamp with National (USSR) EF86/6267 tubes. I like the way it sounded in a long room in my house which has a lot of wood paneling and curtains on 3 sides (over windows). I found the schematic in an old magazine (Audio?) and I believe its the same as or similar to the Mullard preamp here http://bottlepreamp.blogspot.com/ . I only put in two equalization networks in mine, one for a turntable and one for a tape head.
