Hi was wondering if someone could help me with regards to the DCV probe. I need to replace the cable on this probe and was wondering what cable is a suitable replacement?
Thanks.
Thanks.
The solution for me was to contact RS Electronics giving them the details of the parameters of the type of cable needed, and they sent me an email with a choice of three. I used a silicone coated flexible cable because of the fact it was for a probe to withstand the constant movement.
for some reason no one respond to my request for information on here, and Im still trying to find a manual for the solid state version of this meter.

Because your title was misleading. I thought this would be a question about the HP-410C voltmeter about which I know nothing. If you had said wire for HP 410C or prope for HP 410C I would have hopped in here. One of my favorite ebay sellers, sells silicone test lead cable for super cheap.
items in 99centHobbies store on eBay!
He posts on eevblog a lot and is a very standup guy.
Anyways back to the topic at hand, basically you screwed yourself by the title.

An Pedro my fault! I will learn from this and be more specific thanks for your reply.
By the way I've been googling for a manual for the hp410c solid state version without any luck. If you know where I can get one I would be most greatful.

Drop solid state from your search and its the first link (I googled HP410c voltmeter manual)
KO4BB is always the first place I check for manuals.
Anyways here's the link:
http://www.ko4bb.com/Manuals/HP_Agilent/HP_410/HP_410C.pdf
Its a classic HP manual, a bit difficult to read at points but delves deeply into the theory and has full schematics and parts lists.

Pedro,
The link youve kindly provided is not the correct manual, it is the manual for the HP410C valve version I need the HP410C solid state version.

I just checked it is on the agilent website. I checked the schematic, the tubes have been replaced by transistors. Also appendix c deals with a design revision on the bjt section (changed some resistors etc).

Pedro,
Thanks for the link.
Does he offer shielded cable to make probes?
The RED & BLACK cables are what I'm looking for. I need the RED shielded for the Eico 221 VTVM.

I don't see it listed, just the standard multimeter cable. That being said, he might be able to source it for you from his suppliers. just send him a message on ebay (or on eevblog, his name is iloveelectronics)

I didn't see that, I will check it later today. Thks

Could you help me out here, I've checked it again and can not see what you mean. Could you tell me the page number please?

Page 93 right side schematic the tubes have been replaced with q1and an opamp. Last page shows changes to this stage. Clearly show two silicon transistors.
Thanks, Pedro.
Was reading another discussion and thought about your question. You may want to check guitar cable. It's a stranded single conductor shielded cable. Considering it's wide availability it should be a cheap source for the cable you want.
Hi Again,
I noticed when replacing the probe cable, that the other cables need replacing and the red cable has a dual core. Any ideas where I might get a flexible probe dual core cable?
