Well if someone is doing a vfet follower a lot of power can be had from a k77/j27 pair. Especially if a little gate current is available.
We'll have to grow our own like Jeri Ellsworth.
This evening for the dessert gently lady offered me piece of chocolate brownie parfumed with orange fruits but next time she cook it substrate for 40 watt single-ended class A SIT transistors amplifier no doubt. Thanks sweet 😉
Bungles do you have answer for your question ?

You thinking about trying it, Mike?
I don't think I'm up to it. Maybe a triode. 🙂
Oh, I didn't know that. That's a bummer.

Wow! So I guess we need to figure out what the SIT structure needs to be. I need to modify my oven too! When do we start? 😀
I'm going to convince my small batch of SITs that half of them are male and other half female
then to put them in same drawer for some time ........ hoping to see small ones soon
- accordingly to my capabilities , that would be more fruitful , than trying to make them ...

I think the answer is there are a lot of other options that don't require using the hard to find Yamaka 2sk77's I have. I think I'd like to see how these 77b's develop before I dedicate those rare birds to a project. Just waiting on my power caps to arrive for my Aleph J! First attempt at a diy project so I'm super excited. I do need to purchase a quality soldering gun as well so thats next on the list.
Soldering Iron.
A 30-40 watt temp controlled unit and a 60 watt beastie.
No solder guns allowed.

Don't carry no gun in this here town pardner...not when the Sheriff's around. Just pack some iron...
Repeat after me:
This is my iron, this is my gun. This one's for soldering, this one's for plumb (ing).

I am going to borrow old Singh's tandoori oven for the purpose!Wow! So I guess we need to figure out what the SIT structure needs to be. I need to modify my oven too! When do we start? 😀

With formula from mr Nishizawa we let's cook SIT's with more success
and avoid abuse of spice 😀

But where do we buy these super rare SIT's? Or is this almost like catching a unicorn where you have to use an almost mythical creature ( a virgin ) to catch a mythical creature.

circuitdiy.com has the Sony parts in complementary pairs and is a reliable
source. Mike Rothacher has also done a couple of projects with these parts.
