Why not just buy an Acoustat Panel? They are bulletproof and sound very good.
I have a few panels, HF and LF Transformers I can sell...

These look interesting and reasonable priced. Seems to be wire stators like the Acoustats if I'm not mistaken. Anyone got more technical information about the panels (diaphragm thickness, D/S distance, wire segmentation etc.)? How do they sound compared to other more common ESL's (especially Acoustat)?

Not to go off the post............
.But i think it time for some new transfourmer for the Acoustat older panels.....
The Spectra...are fine....but not for me ... less dispersion....flat panels give the best sound!........ ...less the Spectra tranfourmers are setup to run fullrang on the hole panel vary ezey to do....after all these High Dispersion creved panels flat sounds more real!
I gess i could have stop with the Quad 57s....but if you dont go....you CANT know!...
I no the story ..
if its not broke....but these old panels work well....
Sad know one makes a better fullrang panel...to day??
long live Acoustat panels.............

Quad sell pre made panels as spare parts.
I think quad Germany make the ones for ESL 57 and quad China make the ESL 63 and later models.

looks interesting
but whats the point when they say there will be no more DIY products 😕
I have 5 pairs of Dayton wright speakers - several have bad cells, I can sell them very cheaply if you want to cover the freight. I don't have time to take them apart
I dunno, coz they're really old and crusty?
Acoustat panels may be OLD, having not been manufactured for almost 25 years, but unless they've been poorly treated, they aren't likely to be CRUSTY.
Acoustat manufactured some of the most reliable, stable and long-lived ESL panels of any brand. Note that there are frequent posts here about rebuilding panels from ML, Quad and others, but very rarely, if ever, about Acoustat panels. That should tell you something!
And, since Acoustat made THOUSANDS of panels, there are lots of them out there, and if they have come from speakers that have been disassembled for some reason, they can be had quite cheaply. So don't be too hasty in discounting the use of Acoustat panels for your DIY project. They would make an excellent starting point!
+1 Especially with digital XO and EQ I would say the Acoustat panels sound great even when compared to newer models from Final and Quad.So don't be too hasty in discounting the use of Acoustat panels for your DIY project. They would make an excellent starting point!
Come on nef said.............i need all the old, crusdy Acoustat panels...last two 9".. like new panels i got for $40. for the pr.....others need to make there better panels....you know.... new shiny panels....it ezey... hehe..good luck

I phoned Acoustat UK and they must be defunct since the number had been re-assigned. Shame - the panels look nice.
