Does a fancy a main magically transform and improve your entire house wiring?
The "usual" answer to that is that such power cables don't affect the incoming AC as much as groundloop currents circulating from a component to another through the earth wire. There was a thread about that a while back in the "parts' subforum.
PS: I'm not qualified enough to seriously comment on that; just stating a line of reasoning used by some.
"A lot of our power cable sales are to the sort of man who is not closed minded, the kind if man who knows that a power cable is more than just metal and plastic, its a powerful and outstanding extension of his intellect as well."

Three THOUSAND one hundred and fifty six pounds for a mains cable, it's going to take a bit of explaining to justify that price tag 😱
Even worse in dollars - $5114.00
That could buy someone a nice hifi system and some music to play on it 😀

I think the utilities should offer a pure silver option, might lift the their bottom line a bit. Yes the last paragraph is quite funny, especially in the context that the actual CD players in question don't matter.

you could carry one of those around in a natural bag and others would see you in a new way. Trouble is you would find walking difficult. And that is what it is - a bag of ba*ls.
As others have asked before, how can someone be stupid enough to swallow this tripe yet clever enough to earn the money to pay for it?peteleoni said:"A lot of our power cable sales are to the sort of man who is not closed minded, the kind if man who knows that a power cable is more than just metal and plastic, its a powerful and outstanding extension of his intellect as well."

Wrong question, the mechanisms for parting the system with its money are by necessity understandible to the lowest forms of intelligence.
That is never smarten up a chump or give a sucker an even break.

You would think they could a least give you some plugs and maybe throw in a free straitjacket for that price!
How often do you need to polish the conductors? Getting them back into the insulation might take a while, so I hope it does not have to be done too often.
Thanks guys for the 'heads-up' on the Supercords. I will send the info to Jack Bybee, and maybe he will buy one, just to see how it compares with his cords.
Of course, REAL ENGINEERS (or physicists) read the test results as well, before rejecting something out-of-hand! '-)

Indeed, how could anyone disagree with that?
But what do you do when there aren't any "test results", just fluff and woo?

As you are a "REAL ENGINEER", you can provide us with some ABX test results, where are they?
Edit: Any subjective or objective measurement proving these cables make a difference compared to normal cables.
Where are they?

Real physicists run a Gedanken experiment in their head and decide not to bother to read the 'test results'. Their reasoning is simple: if a simple interconnect could do what is claimed for it then much of current electromagnetic theory is wrong, yet it is by far the best attested (by real scientific experiments, not to mention all our modern technology) of all scientific theories. If a potential divider (for that is what a short audio cable is) does not work as expected then we can throw circuit theory out of the window. Now some people would be happy at this, but real scientists and real engineers know it would be quite silly.

I'm afraid you don't Get It. In this post-factual era, ANYBODY can be a real engineer. It's part of your personal experience and self-certification. Why bother with a piece of paper that says you got any Real Training and the intellectual wit to match it? Sooo 20st century... 😉
