Let me clarify what I mean.
If you are "very happy enjoying the music on perfectly good systems ... " then why do you obsess on the efforts of others to design systems that appear to be worth the cost to a certain segment of the population? Also, who are you to tell us what REAL science is?
On another subject, the designer of the amp has put a good deal of effort to fix or at least minimize the noise contribution from the power supply, and apparently he thinks that it is low enough. I tend to agree with you that it could be better, but I am not empowered to attempt to fix the problem, and neither are you.

IMO if the designer got paid in relation to profits made, it wouldn't be so bad.
I read an article about a certain owners extravagant lifestyle made off the back of a designers hard work for which he was given a one off payment which didn't even come close to the owners booze and dinner expense account for a single month.
Enjoy your success John, all the very best to you.

-To prevent more gullible people spending money on worthless things.
-Its fun pointing out obvious misinterpretations of how nature works.
-Because the "truth" matters.
-Stopping the spread of misinformation.
-Stopping pseudo science.

Mmm, Mr Stein's days of selling modular DIY valve/hybrid kits and must have "schnittband" transformers are long long gone.

My mother told me, never mess up the house you live in and expect people to call you clean.

Or an ear tuner pitch fork 😉
You must admit those TTs' are really works of art. Those tone-arms look like bridge engineering types....................
How about a set of Solid Sterling Tuning Forks...30Hz, 125, 250, 500, 1K, etc. How many Octaves do you want Twelve ??????.

Also, who are you to tell us what REAL science is?
.
Real science versus pseudo-science is obvious to those with an education plus real world experience to know the difference. Please feel free to buy all you want of some power cords, cables and rainbow foil and get back with us on how they improved the soundstage.
WHAT! are you seriously suggesting that rainbow foil doesn't work 😱
Next you'll be telling all the kids that Santa Claus is really a fraud and it wasn't him who brought them their shiny new cables at all!
The damage is done now, it's enough to make you cryo.

Please don't go overboard, SOC. I have limitations to my beliefs. Anybody who studies physics, or even follows the SCI channels must come to realize that REAL science is full of mystery and that the scientific 'facts' that we may have learned in our youth may be already found to be inaccurate.
It kind of reminds me of my father who more than 60 years ago told me: "We will never get to the Moon, it is too damn far away". Even I knew that IF we could achieve 7 mi/second (somehow), travel to the moon was possible. I teased my father about this 20 years later. It is a matter of attitude toward new concepts, you can stay safely in a world of common belief, or you can attempt to find what is really happening. It depends on your 'comfort' with new ideas, or at least, this is my opinion on the subject.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Mystery solved. 😀

Ho Ho HO
If you de-magnetise a record as soon as the machine is turned of the para and diamagnetic particles will just line up again though.

As illustrated by Bybee Quantum purifiers eh wot🙂
The laws that govern everyday physics are fully understood. This includes the physics of audio. We know where in the recording/reproduction chain advances can be made and where changes are useless. Please don't go overboard, SOC. I have limitations to my beliefs. Well, it must be 'comforting' that you know where changes are useless. I still have to try to do better, and it seems to work out, somehow.
maybe I just need to get drunk.
You mean that you are not? What part of Scotland do you abide in?
For many years I used the same system - a Garrard 301, Sme3012 and SPU through a Radford to a pair of home brewed Goodman based 3 way reflexes. Perfectly happy - until I met a top designer and heard his (then) 211 based system!!

No they won't. The record is spinning. It's when they sit on the shelf that they get magnetized. 😀

If it really works than it is easy to supply proof.Well, it must be 'comforting' that you know where changes are useless. I still have to try to do better, and it seems to work out, somehow.
And with snake oil, proof is nowhere to be found.

Forgot about that, so they will be randomly magnetised whilst playing! so who needs a record demagnetiser 🙂
You didn't try very hard. 😉 Performance boosters for cars is, and has been for 100 years, full of lucrative B.S. A much larger market than Hi-Fi. And of course performance enhancements for humans and horses. A long history of quack medicine, as SY mentioned. Where do you think the term "Snake Oil" comes from?I've been racking my brains trying to think of any other industry or area of human endeavour which contains such a massive amount of snake oil, Bull S**t and exaggeration as hifi. I have totally failed.

North Argyll.
I tried staying drunk all the time when I was a youth, it didn't work 🙁
After a few years of drinking every night, I found I could still walk home without help after 20 pints of beer with a whisky chaser for every one of them, a total waste of money.
I did manage to got alcohol poisoning, if that's a measure of success 😱
Lesson learnt - in order to get drunk, you must start out sober!
