Hi,
I want to use a motorized volume control from TKD... but I don't know a simple remote control I can buy to actually control it.
What is the trick here... so far all Google searches have ended in failure. What is a good, basic, volume-only remote control?
Thanks!

I've moved this to parts 🙂 Think you'll get a better response here.
To control a pot your looking at something like a PIC microprocessor based system. If your into that sort of thing then you can even programme your own and make the relatively simple electronics to go with it.

Ebay links are a problem at the moment for everyone. Just search for the product description in zeOn's link.

Search for
CONTROL REMOTE SET for ALPS
and have a look. It's shipped from Germany, but I can recommend this set. Volume control only, suitable for Alps-pots (I did) and TKD-pots (my brother did), easy to use and very reliable. There are only two buttons used on the remote control, the other ones have no function. But as said, it works very well!
Maybe it's available from other sellers, too.
You can power it with a simple 8-20VDC supply, even a cheap wall wart will do the job. They say even 7VDC will be enough but from experience I can say this is a bit on the edge. I would use a 12VDC supply or something in that range.
And then there is this one from Dantimax, Denmark:
Dantimax (elektronik) - Control_boards
Select "Remote 1" on the left.
You have to choose a control unit of your choice from the accessories page of the shop. Heaven't used it yet, but it looks quite good to me and it's a bit cheaper than the Alps-set.

Martin

I am liking that Dantimax -- Does anybody know, is Dantimax a "real company" or is it a guy in his basement, working on the weekends?
Anybody know how long he has / they have been around?
