Antek is out of 300va and 400va transformers until early November. They do have 500va (AN-5218) in stock. Is that suitable for the Aleph J ?
I asked them a few weeks ago, they said late October.
I picked up two 200VA instead of a single 500VA

Sorry, I just got a big batch, and perhaps I cleaned them out.

Well, I'm sure you'll put them to good use.

I spoke with them on Monday they pushed it out until early November.
I went with the 500va

I also used two transformers in my Aleph J build, documented here:

In my case I used separate PSU boards. For people interested in using a single PSU board, the transformers can be connected in parallel.

The 500va I ordered is already on the way, but I'm curious, is there an advantage to using two transformers vs. one?
I don't think it offers any advantage for the Aleph J. I assembled the prototype boards and, once tested successfully, wanted to complete the build. Antek had lost most of its stock in the fire earlier this year, so I decided to source the transformers elsewhere. Parts Express did not have the 300VA so I bought two of the 18V+18V 250VA and used two PSU boards, just because I had them assembled and tested.
two transformers and two PSU units (dual mono) have an advantage over single transformer single PSU unit. but it also is much more expensive.

Papa, mentor, fearless leader: Are you building an arc welder....or might this be the start of an exciting, new F7 DIY design? 😀
