Well, measuring Jitter from the EFM-laser/transport with a Jitter meter (Leader LJM 1851) seems to be straight forward, but....how would you measure SPDIF/Clock Jitter?
Audio-Precison app notes might be available for this as their 2722 is designed to measure such things. Dont know how with Leader instrument... but app notes from others might help you with ideas for using the Leader.

Ian once posted his measurement result of WM8805 S/PDIF receiver output. His method, instrument, conditions and results are shown on this post exactly.http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/digital-line-level/192465-asynchronous-i2s-fifo-project-ultimate-weapon-fight-jitter-193.html#post3311737
Hi, Arno Pf!
Are you interested in manufacturing a Compact Disc and its quality control? The jitter meter was used in this kind of field.
Do you have any compact disc read-out industry device that can output a raw EFM signal to be measured by the jitter meter?
Maybe this helps

Hi Bunpei,
🙂 My profession is leaning towards measuring/testing/Qa but this audio-thing is 100% hobby.
I am using the Leader meter to measure the RF/EFM-signal inside the VRDS-10 and I must say that this results in a more stable laser servo control than after merely the TEAC service adjustments.
Don't get me wrong, the TEAC adjustments result in 95% performance and the Leader seems to squeeze out the last 5%.
Maybe this helps

Thx!
For SPDIF (or USB) unless you are troubleshooting some internal issue measuring the jitter artifacts on the main output is the easiest and most revealing since all of the contributors are shown. Use the J-test and a decent FFT and you can see all there is to see.

J-Test???
Here is more than enough to explain J-Test. A Case of the Jitters | Stereophile.com There is a program somewhere here that will generate a Jtest file. There are some complete JTest files floating on the internet somewhere.
