Do I see a shield near LA9242 pin 41? 🙂
Yes, it is a shield plane between LA9242 pin40 and pin41.

I'm in.
Do we get some kind of case with the whole KIT ?
Thank you 🙂
We have designed and prototyped one, but the production price was too high.
Project drawings are on Shiga page.

Now I'll make another prototype and hopefully will get a better offer. Anyhow, I'll present the prototype here. If people will get interested, we will start production.

Thank you very much for your fast response.
This is a very nice prototype. Hope you will be able to find a way to have a better offer.
By the way i will buy 2 of them 🙂
Just for the record, few prototype pictures are on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/VicolAudio see Quantum CD.

Any chance of I2S outputs with the re-design?
For those of us who have discarded our SPDIF input dac?

Tibi, the main regulator, and display and button boards look the same as the original design. Is that the case? Also, what are those tiny little boards on the right side of the second pic?
Tony,
Main regulator is using 7808/1086 as in previous version. We have added an extra decoupling cap for 1086. Display board is almost the same, there are only layout modifications. Tiny boards are optional low noise regulators for each critical section.
These regulators can be easily replaced with any other reg capable to deliver at least 150mA. 🙂

As a newbie, does the shigaclone play sacds?
Shiga do not read SACD.
In a hybrid SACD, Shiga will read CD layer from SACD.

Tibi, ADP151 is for Vref? 2N4403 is a substitute for 2SA608NF?
Regards
Yes, ADP151 is for 2.5V reference and 2N4403 is one of the lowest noise transistor available on market. 😉

Tibi
