I've found tons of information on the older Fountek NeoCD line, including Zaph's site, and everything about Jim Holtz's Statements. The new NeoX is supposedly an improvement, and cheaper at Madisound, but information on them is scarce, and not encouraging.

Since I will do a first build, I am tempted to build something less expensive than a ribbon, but if I like these on paper, I may use them anyway, and don't want to miss a chance to pick them up at $89 if the price goes up.

Did you decide on one or the other? I am currently in a similar situation, trying to choose a ribbon to match my SEAS W22EX 8" drivers for surround speakers. The CD2.0 has the same response as the NeoX 3.0 but the CD2.0 has much more surface area, leading me to believe that it will be able to play lower with more ease.

Unfortunately, life happened and all my DIY plans got put on hold. Hopefully I will have time, and will appreciate you posting the results of what you do.
