Nice little article Joachim. I thought at first you were asking for an answer. I have been thinking about your magnetic suspension for the linear track and I may try and do a simple drawing of an idea I have for you.

I am a bit puzzled where to find the male and female connectors for the "head-shell to arm"-- i have scavenged a set from an old BSR TT, would like to get something better looking.
Why not using LEMO connectors? http://www.lemo.com/
I guess they would be to heavy for head shell connection.
Hello Joao@AltheaMusica
LEMO does not make that kind of connector!
Sincerely,
Ralf

Yeah, connecting the "standard" headshell and the often-S-shaped tonearm like the SL-1200 has. It's a lightweight (as in low mass) connector I haven't seen anywhere else.I suspect that Jack means the mechanical connection which attaches the headshell to the arm.
I'm wondering if use of those connectors is a good idea or not. It's convenient to be able to swap out cartridges, but I'd think a one-piece headshell and arm can achieve better performance.
But if you're not going into manufacturing and don't need a quantity of the connectors, I'm thinking an "old BSR" tonearm would be as good a source as anything. The headshells themselves are standard and should be available at the same places that sell cartridges.
