What’s wrong with TDA7498E+TL082?

Today I’ve got my new amplifier (FEIXIANG AUDIO FX1002A TDA7498 + TL082) which I bought to replace lovely Lepai T-Amp with TA2020. It sounds powerful and THD is low, but in the mid-to-high range sound became almost annoying. The sound is good, but in comparison to Lepai it is much worse. So, my plans to improve sound quality failed.

I think that idea TDA7498E+TL082 itself is very good, but there is something that I cannot understand. Probably component parts, output impedance, circuit… Is there known issues with this type of amplifiers? How can I modify it to improve sound quality? I am even thinking about cutting pre-amp part (TL082) and input signal directly to TDA7498E.

The TL082 is not the greatest sounding opamp . Try swapping it with , for
instance the TLE2072 or someting from the anolog devices range and have a look at the power supply caps and see if you can make some improvements there .

Cheers ,
