A guess a stupid question..

What is the smallest horn speaker you can build with birch ply wood?

I'm thinking desk mounted <<is this possible?
High sensitivity..8 ohms.

Search for those plastic horn assemblies that attach to an I-phone to "amplify" music..........kinda bizaar looking but follow the 'rules' of expansion, so they look familiar to us all (Who follow horns).

Here is a desktop BLH that might give you an idea of what can be done with 3 in drivers.
Acrylic Clear See-through Back Loaded Horn Speakers
Baby Urbanized Back Loaded Horn Speakers

Don't know how they sound but I think there is a Youtube link to a recording of the sound.

I have some Alpair 7's that are great..I was wondering If I could build some small horns about ........390mm high...180mm wide

Hmm, using the 7-3 published specs, it has a usable ~23-218 Hz horn loading BW, so a ~154 Hz acoustical XO point. Setting on a desktop hardly qualifies as half space loading down low and even if we limited the mouth area to ~218 Hz upper limit it will be ~308"^2 Vs your ~109"^2 dims, so the short answer is no.

A compact vent loaded horn shaped cab [ML-horn or ML-Voigt pipe] might can be done, but I haven't done one for the 7-3.
