I was surprised too, hypex did implement good protection on their smps and amp.
But PLEASE Hypex correct your datasheets.

what is the mistake you are talking about?
i have the same amp and pin 6 is the enable pin.
on page 3 you have the connector pinning and it doesnt match the rest of the datasheet.
On page 3 J10:6 is amplifier ready and on page 4 J10:6 is clip detection out.
Same with nearly all pinout. After page 3 its wrong.

you are right.
i never tied to use clipping detector since my speakers
will blow long before the amp clip.

Why? Do you use 10-20 times bigger amplifier than the speaker? Why?

my speakers take 1kw.
ucd2k sounds better than ucd700hg+hxr.
i own both.
Thanks for all the info guys, glad i found this thread. Helped me reassure i was connecting the SMPS3K to the UCD2K correctly.
Small question though, even at moderate levels (about 200 watts) the heatsink i mounted on the modules seems to get quite hot. I would say 50C. Is that normal or is this a little high?
Thanks,
Mike

UcD2k with linear PSU... What do I need to do, to get UcD2k working with non-hypex linear PSU? Just ground the J10:6 (amplifier enable) pin? Do I need to do something to the DC or clipping detection pins if I'm not going to use those features?
I planned to bypass the buffer op-amps and the input caps and maybe use the Kelvin feedback also. What do you think about the UcD2k's sound quality in this kind of setup in bass duty/full range?

Hi Joseph
They probably don't respond due to two reasons: 1.) they might be very busy at the moment (hint: nCore) and 2.) this is an OEM module which isn't usually supplied to private persons. And if the latter happens it is usually through some "illegal" channel.

Charles
What happened to you Charles? 😱

Schematic needed for UCD2K
For this Class-D module so as the associated SMPS I need a detailled schematic diagram. Who can upload this?
I want to find out the reasons for several disadvantages by sound, which I note while a listening test of this device:

I would have thought that gets quite warm - there isn't much material for the heat to dissipate!

How big is that heatsink? Gets me a bit worried, I'm about to mount 2 ucd2k & 2 ucd700s on a 19x35x5cm extruded alu heatsink, it's big.
They run of +-80V directly from litium batteries, vdr & opamp power supplied by mean well supplies running of the same dc (160V)
The box is crammed.
I'll keep u posted🙂
So on the udc 2k, the driver supply voltage (J12) is connected to the negative
bootstrap output of the smps 3kw?
bootstrap output of the smps 3kw?
Oops, it looks like the neg out and neg bootstrap get connected
together at the amp and then the pos bootstrap connects to the
driver voltage on the udc 2k, correct?
