Noisy phono stage on vintage Pioneer SX-434

Hi nice people at Diyaudio

I'am restoring a vintage SX-434 with a rather noisy phono stage.
Some say that the older Toshiba BJT's is getting noisy'er by the
time or maybe modern types are just better.
Would it help to replace the transistors with some modern type, say
BC550, or is this simple configuration just noisy by design.

No need to change the R's until you you figure out the noise source.

Yes both channels, no pu connected, no noise on aux, hiss, no hum.
I was wondering if it is true that these transistors should get noisyer at old age ?

Are the SS9014/15 and 512-KSC1845FTA, by experience, sure to produce less noise than the old 2SC1344 ?
