I think it is possible to use only one channel for stereo unbalanced use,but why not to use both channels?Components are cheap ,30w or 60 w transformer dont have so much difference in price, and in the future maybe you will need xlr .
I love the essential filosofy and i not think that i will use in future the xlr connections, please do you conferm me that i must eliminate the network of the two 100ohm R and the 2kohm trimmer between them?
Thanks in advantage an sorry for my english!😀
Hi all,
Another question regarding rca / xlr, also simplier 🙂
Looking at the basic diagram, we can see something like in (+) (-) and out (+) (-) which quite looks like RCA. Also looking at the diy aleph p pictures, we can see both RCA end XLR.
Finally, is the aleph P an XLR or RCA preamp ?
Cheers

I have a complete Aleph P1.7 for sale. Two Aleph boards, double powersupply on one board. Two torroidal transformers for 230V only. Mail me if interested...
Leeuwarden, I have just sent you a PM.
I forgot to ask you about the origin of the toroids you are offering, too.

The transformers came from a surplus store in the Netherlands. Brand is called Belpa.

Hi all;
this is my first post on the forum but I read some time.
Now I need to buy a preamp pcb aleph 1.7 because I have the whole kit to build but I cooked some tracks of one of the two boards.
some of you would know tell me where I could buy it?
Thank you very much for your kind response

I think someone posted a note some time ago indicating that Veteran was no longer supplying AP17 pcbs. You might reach out to him, just in case. Another option: PASS LABS CLONE - ALEPH P 1.7 DIY Preamplifier PCB layout

Its a shame, id love a couple of veterans aleph p1.7 boards. The alternative look alright too, but i prefer separate boards and am under impression that the alternative boards have some grounding issues...
I have a spare pair of the Veteran boards (tin plated). Send me a PM if you are interested.

I get a lot of questions about the availability of boards for this project - if there will be 20 peaple interested I can make more gold plated PCBs and ordered some matched transistors.
I don't need the fets but I would be in for a set of both pwr and pre.
Let me know if it happens.

Is it 4 transistors per board or 6? Looking at the images of the Veteran board I see only 4 and the schematics I see 6.
IM i totally blind?

Just talked to a freind. He would be in for a stereo set too.
So if it happens.... That would be 4 of each I would be looking for.
If so, let me know what I owe.
Thanks
Is there a BOM (bill of materials) and perhaps a stuffing diagram/guide floating around for these boards Veteran?

I'm in the States and would be interested in a stereo set as well. If I need to buy the matched FETs as well in order for the deal to be done, I'm fine with that.
I just ordered PCBs for this preamp and they should be ready in two weeks.
Documentation below, I'll also prepare BOM.
