Dave and All,
Here's a picture of my house, before I remodelled it with fresh Tar
paper.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
I don't have an interior picture, but it features a modern "open" floorplan. With nearly all the kids gone, we may want to downsize so there's less upkeep.
Best Regards,
Terry
man, that's a lot of plywood - 4 or 5 sheets IIRC
I've just realized that I'm basically a Southern California Surfer Dude trapped in a Washingtonian's body. The very thought of this has caused excruciating mental agony.
You obviously require therapy!
I prescribe a large, complicated (perhaps even expensive) speaker build to activate the pleasure centers of your brain.
Cheers, Jim

That's a great idea, I should have thought of that myself! 😀
Thanks Jim.

let's start a collection towards the 45 gal drum of bondo that Terry will likely consume during the early stages of his recovery

comrades in arms and all that
It will very likely work OK. Leave some room for playing with air cavity volume. Reminds me, i've got to get Bernie's FE166eSR done.

I know this is a pretty old thread but...
Was a consensus arrived to on whether or not this is a good option for the FE166ES-R?

Yes. Very.

Awesome thanks!
Would corner loading it be a big benefit? Also how do you like it compared to the Aikos you had with the FE108E Sigmas, big improvement?
I am getting a pair of the ES-Rs and bringing them to MIT with me. I will build some cabs when I get there and design the dorm layout around the sound system

Plans are currently VERY basic, would need feedback thru a build on bringing them up to at least minimum standards... email me (and cc Scott)

Hello dave. I tryed to e-mail scott today and I got 2 bounced back e-mails? Maybe something is wrong on his end. I was looking at the sperrin box for the fostex fe103en speaker and I had a few questions? Also how would I get a hold of scott now? C.R.
Yes. Very.

So tell me, are the Hiro, Victor and Harouna all roughly the same height ? I still have a pair of never used 166esr in the boxes from original sale at solen and I have yet to build something. I veered off the single full range path onto open baffles with vintage coax and triax drivers but might find the courage to build something for these special drivers. I just don't have the room for something from the looks of it very tall.
Cheers
Paba
well 5 feet tall, certainly could work, since my current open baffles are 4 ft tall.
I'll have to bookmark that victor.
Thanks

Just curious...
Wondering how close to the wall they need to be?? Does a foot away produce an overwhelming amount of bass or does it need to be that close just to get enough to balance out the top end??

At the time they were here they were somewhere like 15-24" out from the wall. Bass was very good. Wife didn't like them, they blocked the TV when sitting at the dinner table.
