Fig. 8 is missing the headline. Otherwise it's interesting to see how the different designs perform.
Maybe I can over-state, but I feel that the setup WJ used in his impedance measurements in 1995 was "painstaking". In one set of measurements of the original AD797 positive regulator I observed impedance below a micro-Ohm, but the inductive Z was higher. Just moving the kelvin clips a tiny distance...
It may be more helpful to use a much lower load current to judge regulator stability.

WRT VinylTrak -- I have an additional set of LS844 in PDIP (dual JFET) -- you need 2 per channel. PM Me if interested.
Hi Jan
In my opinion the most interesting articles would be:
Samuel Groener: A New Amplifier Topology with Push-Pull Transimpedance Stage
Kendall Castor-Perry: The Class i output stage
Cheers
Stein
Stein,
Those are V2 articles. You can select them when V3 comes out 😉
jan
I vote for Kendall's article.
Although schematic was already discussed in thread "Class i and siblings", it may be of interest how he came to it.
Cheers Mir

Kendall's article is now being published in the EDN 'analog zone'.
Part 1 is here:
Designing a low-distortion audio output stage - Part 1: Introduction, the problem with push-pull outputs | EDN
Enjoy!

Linear Audio at AES in SF
BTW, I will have a shared booth with Elektor USA and AudioXpress at this weeks' AES convention in SF.
If you plan to go there, be sure to stop by at booth 1230 for a chat or some serious auduio discussions!
I will also have Bob Cordell's VinylTrak prototype from LA Vol 4 on display.

Hi Jan,
Is it better to order the newer LA after you get back from your trip ?
Ashok.
No you can order anytime, I have someone doing the shipping when I'm away.
And don't forget the DIYA discount code for 10% off 😉
jan
Actually the DIYA discount code has been effective probably two years now after it was announced.
But maybe I need to repeat it now and then.
Like now ;-)

You better not disable it 'till your next issue, now that I know... 😉
I won't. For now 😀
