You can use them instead of the 100uF in the experimental but double up where you see 1000uF.

Hello Guys, I have been reading around this thread but it's hard to find info in the 800+ pages so I guess you won't mind me asking a few questions:
From what I can understand the simplistic can be configured for MM carts right?
Is the schematic in the first post the latest one?
Is there any PCB available that includes the regulators, like the mesmerize buffer?
If no pcb available, is there a tested layout around?
A more practical question, what is a ballpark figure for parts cost of the phono stage and recomended regulators?
This should be a starting point! 🙂

This is the 'turret board'.
Also sometimes called a 'group panel'. 🙄
Most people use this for high-voltage stuff. 😱
Often find it in 50s' 60s' guitar amps, before PCBs.
The board in the pics is 60mm x 300mm & has 2 rows of 30 turrets.
The spare holes are on a 10mm pitch & you can get spare turrets, which you just rivet into position using a centre-punch & hammer.
Not much good for Op-Amps !
But I think it's great for discrete stuff like regs. or the simplistic.
It also comes in larger perforated sheets, so any size is possible; just rivet in your own turrets.
Glass-fibre or Tufnol.
What I like about it is :-
You can solder components across the turrets, without cutting the leads short; good for experimental values. 😕
Can wire interconnects below-board for neatness or above for visibility & ease of access; you can work on turret boards fixed in a case without removing them to get to the back.
Also good for mounting chunky bits like ex-Soviet military capacitors.


Wires can also be laced through spare holes, to relieve tension on solder joints.
