janneman, most probably you already know about this A new audio amplifier topology with push-pull transimpedance stage - Part 1: Introduction but I thought I just mention it, congratulations, getting it mentioned in eetimes must be an accomplishment 🙂
Well I would say it is an accomplishment for Samuel Groner. EDN's Analog Zone editor approached me for publishing specifically this article.
Congrats to Samuel, and just in time for the publication of Linear Audio Volume 4 which is TODAY!
One day ahead of schedule 😉

It's here and looks great, thank you.
Did we mix up some of the micro's and milli's in Bob Cordell's excellent MM/MC pre-pre article?
I got Vol.4 early this week and i must say that the quality of the articles is as good as it was. As a vinyl freak i am of cause happy that two phono stages are included.
One by the indisputable Bob Cordell, Wow.
I personally like his lateral thinking and the unusual but handy features he build in like :
MM cartridge EQ and damping, Balance control, R-L output, Bass merge.
His choice of making the 75us EQ transimpedance and the rest active is a good one.
I use that topology in my Nobrainer phono stage and it sounds great.

Dunno, did we?

Continuation of paragraph from 136 into 137, the Shure V15 inductance is stated as 300uH, should be 300mH.

I think you're right - the 370uH gives a much too high resonant freq.
I'll check with Bob.

Can I take this as a sign that the latest issue has reached the new world?
I'll keep a watch on my mailbox.

Michael, I have an order for Vol 4 in my webshop for you, goes out Friday or Monday.
Edit: shipped already more than a week ago - should be getting real close to you now ;-)

Thanks for the efforts. I finally bit the bullet and ordered this issue. Interested in the Sit amp. I am afraid i may have opened Pandora's box and will have to get the rest now.
Hello Jan,
I can't remember if I got an email, but I ordered the first day it was available.
I figure if it has reached New Jersey, Ohio can't be far behind.
Since I have the microphone for a moment: thank you for putting together such a nice publication. It must take a great deal of effort, and I'm grateful beneficiary.

I just ordered a bunch of LS844 JFETs -- Bob's VinylTrak article makes the issue of cartridge matching understandable. He's a very good technical writer.
Somebody just whispered in my ear that Bob Cordell will come to the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in Denver this October, AND bring his VinylTrak preamp.
I'll have a table booth there in the lobby where we can hang out.
Your chance to get it from the horse's mouth, so to speak!
