Well that's the issue. What's "usual"? I've never earthed anything in my life....
Edit: Do you mean connecting back to the "earth" of the mains socket? Is it necessary to ground the chassis for safety as per this diagram?
Or is that only necessary for a linear supply?

The Meanwell unit has three input connections from the mains AC: Live, Neutral, Eath.
It has two DC output connections: V+ (positive DC), and V- (return DC).
Actually there are three sets of each DC output to allow for easy wiring of multiple recipients (at the same voltage).
Have faith. Its simple. No humming issues with mine. No need to earth amp unit itself. Have a look at the picture.

That does seem pretty straight forward. I may give this a go after all.
I'm now thinking of going the whole hog and building with the T4 using the SMPS300R 48V 230V power supply.
Is it more risky using the naked psu over the meanwell? It looks like it has screw input and output connections as well?
