HF Crossover for B&W 800D2

Hello all,

I was wondering if somebody knows if i have to add a resistor to the HF crossover from the B&W 800D2. Not the 800D! I was lucky to get my hands on this parts. It will be used with the original diamond tweeter of the 800D2 model.
I am just not sure and what could happen if i would use it without a resistor? Could it damage the tweeter or would it just not sound right?
Thanks

Look at the tracks.

You have the option at the left hand end of the cap to mount it in one of two holes. One uses the resistor the other doesn't.

You shouldn't harm the tweeter without the resistor but it might be a bit "bright!" I would buy the three resistors and try them.

The crossover out of the 800D is very similar. If you look at the service manual you will see that it is.

PS. I've only just spotted the second hole for the cap.

Can you clarify the reference for your speaker.
As I have for a B&W speaker 800D2 Series, 805D2 the crossover has an option shunt for the r1 1R0/100W resistor. So no problem in this case. Adjust at will.

Just to clarify, does this mean that i could use the crossover as it is? And if i want to use a resistor, in case it sounds to bright, i would have to put the one leg of the cap into the right hole of the track?
