Any chance we can tempt you to bring a pair (in boxes preferably) up to this summers Vancouver Island diyFEST?

They are currently in open baffles. My plans are to build the Hourglass BLH. I will build a test enclosure first and do some measuring, then see about the final build. When that will be I'm not sure. Hopefully I can get started this spring.
The BLH enclosures are 63 inches(1602) by 17.75 inches(450) and would be a big package to transport to Vancouver Island. It would be fun to attend.

I just saw a very interesting BLH design from Sonido of Hungary. Looks like for those with DIY skills it would be a fairly easy horn to build. I've attached a photo for you all to see.

looks like a curved and inverted version of the BiB design?
Sonido Hourglass
Here are pictures of one of the completed Hourglass enclosures. Still one more to go. All the pieces are cut, but need glued and screwed. I will post more pictures of the second build progress.

Wonderful work BDP! How do they sound? Even, balanced frq respose from top to bottom? Have to compared them to any Fostex designs BIB, Sachiko etc?

Who BDP those look awesome! Hows the sound now that you've had them a while?
I am very pleased with the sound and look of these speakers. The midrange transition from the horn to the speaker driver is excellent. If you are going to build BLH or Open Baffles big is the way to go if you have the room. Sonido drivers are wonderful.
The pocket hole screws are a good idea, nice work.
It made for easy assembly and very little clamping. Tight quarters getting to the screws inside when the last side piece was attached.

I totally agree, I have never liked the sound of small speakers nearly as much as large ones. Too bad my room is pretty small, still the speakers dominate it, good thing the sub is hidden as a couch or it would be wayyy too much
And I just noticed a typo, who was supposed to be wow in my previous msg
I was researching Sonido and came across this interesting thread. Thanks to the contributors.
Is there anyone caring to update on these drivers with experiences and further thoughts and comparisons with other brands.
Many thanks.
Happy New Year.
