There was anither thread about this Philip's amp i'd seen on here before. It is a sweet looking room heater and those mercury tubes... No matter what though, my wife won't let me have one.
My mercury tubes are way bigger....🙂

2.5A flowing through a 90/100kW MV rectifier. The only reason I pursued this epxeriment (for my amp build) is because the video on the internet inspired me. The glow captured me and so I decided I wuold implement the rectifiers in my build

That scares me a lot........ almost as much as when my uncle Dave took me on site at Bawdsey Manor to look at Bloodhound missiles and their radar/computers.
I find old tech fascinating. True, tangible, powerful technology which has a perceivable exterior shell. New technology is silent, cold, keeps away from your senses (still gets the job done though 🙂 ).
