Appart from speculation, are there any clues about the F5T ??? The name suggests higher power I guess...
But on account of higher revs, wider tyres and quite possibly some bling-bling... 4 LEDs this time?Appart from speculation, are there any clues about the F5T ??? The name suggests higher power I guess...
F5 Turbo
For What I understood it's a F5 for driving a difficult load up to 1 ohm or less 😀
Specially designed for driving Electrostatic Speakers and Maggies 😉

The article is done. Unfortunately, my ftp connection is not working.
While we await its repair, let's pause to remember that Feb 12 is
Ed Dell's 89th Birthday. You can send him a birthday card at

after that just search for Cviller's blog
The FQA36P15 and FQA28N15 might seem like overkill @ 294W and 277W respectively but they are pretty cheap at Mouser (£1.71 and £1.09 each).
They are also TO3-P so should be better at dissipating heat than the TO-220 package.

Signal tracks can be 30-40 mils, power ones must 100 mlis mimimum. Pads are too tiny, particularly if you are going to etch your pcbs at home IMO.
Forgot to say;
Board is 350mm x 50mm.
Phoenix connectors for Input, Output and Power.
Minimum track width 1.2mm (1.6mm on output devices).
1.6mm board woth 2oz copper.
350MM probably makes it too big to fit into the common Conrad heatsinks a lot people use. A little smaller might be nice, only if this is something you plan on getting rid of.
Sorry missed the plot😀
what up with Manu now?
Normaly you on "different" tread
(make for same less boring reading than avverage but one refrine for posting there as sems there is a tre way "conversation" going on alla time)
You so dumb that you posted on wrong tread?
