The Carver mag field power supply is not an SMPS.

The coil itself, and the triac, are very stout and almost never fail.

Hey Rich, once I figure out what the issue is and get this amp working again, what are the parts costs for the MKII parts? After everything is working good again, I'd like to give this old friend an overhaul.

The last time I figured parts cost (almost three years ago now):

$236 for an M-500t mk II
$180 for M-1.0t mk II
