I think you would be better off with buying an amp from connexelectronic, I think they do PS and amp combinations, two of those ljm amps fully built for just £15 each you really have to think where they saved the money.

Christi, the designer of connexelectronic kit, is a member on these forums and seems very keen on producing good quality electronics.

IRS2092 amplifier modules are available from 150W to 600W on 4R load here Connexelectronic they have on-board speaker protection circuit, and the power supply which can be used with them can be as follows: SMPS300R for two 150W modules or a single 250W module, SMPS500R for two 250W modules or a single 400W module, SMPS800R for two 400W modules or a single 600W module, A1000SMPS for two 600W modules. Connexelectronic
During testing, i measured around 750W on 4R at 0.6% THD on a 600W module supplied with +-92V. so the 600W delclared power is real, with max. 0.1% THD with module supplied at +-82V.

Okay, yah the 1000w smps is a bargin i would say, but, im looking for the best sounding amp for the price, wiht a minimum of 100w continuesly in to 8ohms, so i dont know if the ta3020 souns better than the IRS2092, i have not realy found a god deskription of the sound ?

Thx for the awnsers 🙂

Cheers Toby

I would be interested in a comparison between connex and jlm modules. Though connex are a little more expensive (relatively, as they incorporate the speaker protection), they would let me use a smaller case I believe.
What are the dimensions of your mono module? Are they better than your stereo module?

I would suggest the ta3020v4 smps and amp in one board.

I have one of the higher powered boards and its very simple to get working just wire mains, input and speaker and its going.

the power figures are higher than the boards your looking at also.
believe me it provides alot of output power.

quote from connexelectronic page.
"There are two versions of this amplifier, one is capable to deliver 300W at 4 Ohms on each channel in single ended mode or 960W in BTL mode, and a powerful version capable of delivering 400W on each channel in Single-Ended mode and up to 1340W on 4 Ohms in BTL mode."

Okay guys, i have been looking around and found that i might wanner buy the amp-module in europ, and i came acrose "clodamp" ? So How would 2 off there 450w/4ohm go on one 1000w smps from connex?

Have some of you heard the cold amp? should i stil go for one of the TA3020's?

I finde that i can spend a bit more than what i thougth 🙂

The item that is trully needed is a kick butt input buffer as the input impedance is 3.23k on all of these IRS2092 amps.

I asked this in LJM's thread, but no one answered.

It was said there that the input impedance is mostly set by R7/3.01k resistor in the feedback loop.

But what about R8/120k right after it?

see schematic on p.30 here

Another unanswered question is why are some of the component values in red and have * next to them.

I think L15D don't see the input impedance is too important.

Almost all of the source of the sound and operational amplifier can direct drive.

According to L15D magnification about 36, input sensitivity no more than 1.5 V

And L15D input capacitance is big enough, it can get 10 HZ ac frequency attenuation is very little.
