Speaking about professional gear, i was forced to stay in a hotel for a night earlier this week (theatre&restaurant with influenza and a splitting headache, blablabla).
Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh, full-size ship signal lamps on the ceiling of the room (mounted upside down).
And custom made, so zero chance of buying a couple.

My father was a diesel-electric submarine captain so I got to go out on the "boat". Only on the surface though, they had rules against children on a dive (hmmm maybe my mother made that up it occurs to me!) I was fascinated how they used the signal lamps to communicate. One sailor was constantly working the thing. This was in the early '60's.
