Steve Jobs

And now, the end is near,
And so I face the final curtain.
My friends, I'll say it clear;
I'll state my case of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full -
I've travelled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

What an innovator and visionary Sir Steve Jobs was. May he rest in peace.

he has left his mark on almost every facet of my life to date, his innovations have allowed me to become the man i am today. gushing i know, but seriously as a former and sometimes still graphic designer, photographic compositor, musician and now producer of headphone related audio goods, his vision has touched and supported me through life to date and provided counterpoint to that all encompassing greyness which sends me insane.

I dont think i would have undertaken any of this endeavor had it not been for his 'thinking differently' I grew up with apple from the first 128kb mac, my mother was and still is a talented mac addicted artist and aptly today i made payment for delivery of my mac i5 mini

visionary is an understatement.....

he had his flaws, as did his progeny sometimes (think LCIII), but overall I think he left the world a better place than he found it and afterall isnt this the measure of a man?

I feel gutted, as if i lost a close friend of family member

I have very few big business heroes. Too many corporate leaders are, unfortunately, worthy of contempt in my judgement - a lack of creativity and courage matched only by a lack of humility in the face of one failure after another.

Steve Jobs was first among the very few corporate leaders whom I truly admired. Steve taught many lessons in good corporate leadership to those simply willing to observing them. One of my favorite observations is that you grow a company by focusing on increasing it's sales with compelling products, not by cutting it's costs with an ax. The leadership of most corporations focus on cutting costs because, well, that is the easiest thing to do. Increasing sales takes leadership with vision, creativity, and courage. That was Steve Jobs.
