Hi everyone, I feel like I know so many of you guys already from lurking here forever. I have such grand plans now spinning in my head that I cant begin.
I have two basic systems: the den system was at first an homage to 70s Pioneer, analog and headphones(sx receivers and different cs style speakers and Pioneer tts make their rounds, currently its an sx-850 with Wharfedales (trp w70ds)and a pioneer pl-560. Then there is the HT system in tv room with a big Kenwood hook to HK 50 dvd and Boston Acoustic speaker for the surround sound.
I want to build a DAC!!?? I have colected up about ten TDA1541, and read every thread but I just dont know where to start. I need a starting point that doesnt include 500 pages of dual dac paralled output buffering or what ever else I dont understand.
Pictures and ABC for the beginner stuff, thats what I need. Soldering gun is ready, fire extinguisher is charged and the kids are in bed.

Roy

Welcome to the forum. Hope you can stop spinning!

It looks like you have a start, the TDA1541, you must have chosen it for a reason, right? Do you understand the basic building blocks of a DAC? That the DAC chip itself is in the center of the signal flow?

If you can't find a project that you like, start a new thread. Describe your goals and your skill level. You'll get moe help than you ever wanted. 😀

Hi royf - as long as you can closely regulate the rotational speed of your head to 33 1/3 RPM a large part of the problem is solved!!!! 😀😀😀

Ho-K - enough fun. Start at the beginning - build your power supply 1st and then test it. Keep us posted with where you are at and bring some doggie treats. A lot of the guys here respond well to bribes before they will sit up and bark!!! :clown:
