Hello Diyaudio ppl , decided to take the plunge and join after a while lurking and reading, i dont think im going to add a great deal to the level of knowledge which tbh is way beyond me most of the time , you will prob find me reading the various audio for dummies threads or asking for a simplified answer cos thats about my level 🙂 .
the boring bit , im a middle aged bloke from nw uk (Manchester) , music tastes ... Abba to Zappa (more AC/DC to Zappa tbh )
the less boring bit , the kit : pioneer sa410 amp, pl112d tt ,ct 520 tape ,which is
my origional 80s stereo ,more recently , harmon kardon AVI 200 amp . yamaha kx580 tape , marantz cd67, rega planar p3-24 and for special occaisions 😉 , i also run a valve amp , which is based on the leak stereo 20 , with an uprated power supply (ecc83 , el 84 , gz34) built by bluebell audio (promise im not on comission). Small collection of Wharfedale speakers , laser 60 , laser 120 ,chevin (full range)and a couple of others , pair of hempacoustic 6.5 full range in a metronome cab (thanks to frugalhorn site), and the pride of my speaker collection , a pair of vintage Goodmans Triaxioms .

Hello - Awol66 - and Welcome to diyAudio!!!! 😀😀😀
That is some nice gear you have there - would I be correct in thinking that you are aware that the Marantz is ripe for all sorts of tweaks....😎

Hello Cal Weldon and c2cthomas , thanks for the welcome 🙂
c2c , the marantz 67 is a replacement for my origional cd63 (which i wore out), and i was hoping to be able to have
that repaired , and perhaps a basic upgrade at the same time , my soldering skill probably only extends to
burning a hole in an important circuit board , so its better if i stick to soldering ends on cables and basic stuff .
I have seen a thread on the boards on the subject of marantz upgrades , and i think 1 of the contributors
is in my area and runs a business performing repairs and upgrades , so if i could jus stop buying speaker drivers and
needing to make cabs to fit em its possible i will be able to use his services 🙂

Hi awol66.
Good to see another member from round these parts, I love the looks of the Metronomes.
If they worked with my CSS drivers there would be a pair here too.
