OK i'll be more specific. Linking the output of the opamp to the output sockets, and removing the muting transistors form the audio path. TBH I cant remember if I did it or not but then again, I only just noticed that I did in fact remove the output caps!
I knew what I meant anyway!! 😛

Q851-4.1V U112 & u113 4V. Thanks Brent.
On Q851 you should have -31V (ish) on the input -6.8V on the gnd pin and -24V on the output pin.
Your problem is in that area by the looks of things. D851 should have -21V one side and -31v the other.

Voltage at D851 is very low -o.4v at both side. Could it be the transformer?

Yes it could be the tx. Measuring ac now, measure between gnd and + side of C854. You are hoping for 12V

I think 1 winding may be faucty. the rest seem ok.C805-19v C815-5v.
windings don't normally just go on these players. It could be a bad connection.
What ac volts do you have between gnd and + of C854?
What ac volts do you have between U107 and U108?

The player is ok, It's only no display. Ac at c854 & gdn 14.3v. Between u107 u108 3.3v

Problem solved, it's c854.resolder & display is on again but seem blur so replaced it. THANK YOU VERY MUCH BRENT!

I've still not got round to actually doing anything to my CD63. I'd procrastinate if I could be bothered.
As part of my initial plan, I was looking fit some regs, and was looking to use peranders SSR design and make some boards myself (though may cop out and order some boards from him instead).
What voltages do I actually need to supply?
Looking through the schematics, it seems to be mostly 5V with +/- 12V on the output stage. Though I'm not sure on the clocks. I was looking to take Ray's Kwak variant and change the power supply to be a superreg design but note it uses an 8V reg, so am unsure what supply I need to use.

Ive fitted 5 regs round the board ,2 on servo, 2 on the dac and one on the cpu .
any where else needs regs.
cheers alan
