I suspect Mark is plotting something along these lines, but I wouldn't expect it in the short term. Medium term though perhaps. The existing unit is proving a bit of a hit, so I understand.

If you include the CSS branded EL70, that'd be a bit of an understatement, and Mark's resistance to rush re-engineering for the sake of that one number is understandable.

Of course, I just solve the issue by using 2 drivers per channel.

I would use also 2 drivers (8 ohm), but for the higher sensitivity.

With series wiring SPLs will be unchanged over a single unit for a given input. You will get an extra 6db dynamic range though as individual excursion will be halved.

Only in the context of being driven by a pure voltage amplifier.

With a pure current amplifier you gain 6 dB, and with real amps you gain somewhere in between, With a typical SET or amp like the F2 you gain ~3 dB

For my 10W PP amp every dB gain is important.
This is the reason why I planed to use 8Ohm parallel drivers.
I think I am not alone with this claim for 8Ohm driver

With a typical transformer coupled amplifier, it is the 2 drivers that is important, not whether in parallel or series (as long as you have it on the right taps.

The CHP should go into the same miniOnken boxes as the EL70, i haven't yet checked to see if any changes in the vent spacers would need to change... but i will do so.

I've done a design for the 1st with 13litre, i don't think it would mind a bit more. The latter i settled on 9 litre as optimum.
