There is still a great deal of interest being shown by people who would like to buy the JLH Ripple Eater boards, the first GB has been sold out for some time so I have talked to JonClancey about setting up a second GB.
The new GB will be exactly the same as the first except a different charity will receive all of the 'profits', the board will have some minor changes and I will be running it instead of Jon 🙁
As you may have seen in the original GB Jon is trying to keep the Mirror sites running with the three documents. These documents will be changed to show the above points - especially who to contact - me!
It will take me a few days to get organized but I wanted to start this thread so that Jon can have a rest after all his much appreciated efforts.

Thanks Alan,
let us know when the board and parts arrive.

It is now 11PM in the U.K. so you may not get a reply for a while.
The previous GB was for PCB ONLY, as I expect this GB will also be.
You will need to source the components yourself.

Hi Alan,
Can I just express my interest in this GB - I anticipate buying one and it may well be 2 or 3.
Thanks for your efforts - are you yet able to indicate your chosen charity?
Cheers,
Dave.

I would be "happy" to source the components myself as long as I could at least get the "motherboard" where all the caps/resistors/components are being soldered.

Hi - GB stands for Group Buy and this one is only for the board.Sorry, but what is GB?

I do not fully get it.Hi - GB stands for Group Buy and this one is only for the board.
So once this board becomes available, would I be able to buy it?
I am not member of any groups or boards.

Yes, you will be able to buy it.
A Group Buy, means they are purchased on behalf of a group of members, and the much higher number of PCBs purchased from the supplier results in much cheaper prices for individuals. The person who organises the Group Buy will receive all the PCBs on completion, and then post them out to the individual purchaser after he pays via PayPal.

Thanks SandyK........this suits me and will definitely order 2 or more.
Anybody knows the sound difference in DACs or CD players?
Thanks

I use several in my modified Silicon Chip magazine DAC. +-15V for Analogue of the DAC PCB, ,and 2 x +5V,
One is used for +5V of the PCM1796, and another for +5V to the Input PCB))
They make a very worthwhile improvement.
I am however using the original dual version PCBs.
Alex
I'm interested as well on this PCB, any news about it?

It may be worthwhile if people indicated their interest in this thread , and the
numbers of PCBs required, so that Alan can have some idea of the amount of interest remaining, and whether to proceed or not with a new GB.
SandyK
P.S.
Some of the uses for the JLH PCBs.
Supplying very low noise and low impedance supplies for :
RIAA Phono Preamps.
Headphone Amplifiers.
Preamplifiers.Both I.C., and I.C. + discrete output stage.
Class A preamplifiers with bias to over 100mA per supply rail on each channel.
Front end supply of lower supply rail voltage Class A amplifiers.(to +-25V)
Front end supply of Power amplifiers with supply rails as high as +-55V using suitable components.
Dual polarity supplies for the analogue section of DACs.
Individual +5V supplies for both the DAC and Digital areas of a DAC.
Dual polarity outboard supplies for replacing existing wallwarts with DACs such as the Musical Fidelity X-DAC v3 etc.
Use with Linear outboard supplies for replacing 12V 2A SMPS supplies with devices such as WD TV Live,
and the Firewire M Audio 610 which has provision for using an external 12V PSU.
There were definite audible improvements in both cases.

I am hoping that I will be able to order the boards within the next 3-4 days; as soon as that is done and a firm date for delivery is known I will post details.
Since I am doing the GB JonClancy is having to change the documentation for the RippleEater, as soon as this is done and the amended documents are on the mirrors then I will again post details.
I thank people for their patience during this change of management!!😀
Alex,
Thanks for fielding all the questions so far - great job.
Alan
Will they be the same price as the first GB? If so, I'll take 10.
Pricing should be exactly the same as Jon's original GB.
Alan
I had my hand up for the last group buy but have just found out that has finished and now this one is going!
I'll take 2 boards please 🙂

200 Boards Ordered
I have ordered 200 boards - there are some small changes - most importantly they are now RED, the silk screen shows the new Charity that will receive all 'profits' (ICAN - The Childrens Communications Charity) and the holes for the connectors have been reduced in size.
I am NOT taking firm orders at the moment however I will keep a list of all people who have shown an interest in this new GB; once the boards have arrived I will then ask people to place firm orders (and pay!) as per the documents which will be loaded in the next couple of days. The original docs are still 99.9% correct - there are minor changes to reflect the above.
People who have shown an interest so far are: -
dshambala 2-4 boards
kaoko 2-4 boards
DaveK 2-3 boards
ramallo 4 boards
Naqua 4 boards
ZUM911 10 boards
Whittie 2 boards.
If anyone else is interested please EMAIL me with details and I will add you to the list - after this post I will not publish the list until the boards arrive.
Now we wait for the pcbs to drop through the letter box.
Thank you for your patience.
