I've always made a point of reading the book whenever I'm going out of the country, and sometimes, when we're not.

From what I recall, DA died in LA, US of A, promoting the game. The game cost mega$ to produce and went nowhere. It came with an audio cassette. Remeber those? Send me a PM if you need more info. E

I will have you know it can be nearly 85 miles, 92 if you take my mates shortcuts.
We take a sleeping bag and some Kendal mint cake for a journey of that magnitude.

It is hard to visualise the huge distances involved in UK travel unless you have experienced it! It can take 3 hours to drive 5 miles here.
A beaver will do you no good when 10mm of snow has fallen and the entire country has ground to a halt. London was almost a national emergency when 15mm fell this last winter. What they needed was Kendal mint cake and a nice blanket.
There was an Australian girl around my home town for a while. She thought it hysterically funny that we consider 200 miles a long drive too.

I recall after a flight to my parents home city in the Netherlands, Delft, when I was around 9 or 10 years old, being picked at the airpot in my great uncles white 1966 Chevrolet Caprice, red interior. Classy ride...different for that country at the time. Navigating that thing around Delft and Rotterdam cobblestone streets was always an adventure, with liberal use of the sidewalk...
My great uncle, head out the window, screaming at a lady indignant of her right to passage obstructed by this steel behemoth:
"...Hey Lady! You're better off under ME than under my car! ...At least in 9 months you can get rid of it!"

You can make dishes (the 7" ones are great for this) and plates and stuff. Just watch out for the hole in the middle
