Clocking, should I bother?????

Hello Folks,

I know how people praise clocks but is there much point in my Marantz CD6003?

The reason I ask is that it seems common for CD players of the moment to have jitter of 250ps and above, the CD003 has a standard crystal connected to an IC with it's own inbuilt TCXO and the result is below 50ps, where as the aftermarket clocks are quoting around 10ps.

I can see the point in dropping the jitter from say 250ps to 10ps, but from 50ps to 10ps? Is there any point, especially when you consider £140+ for a clock and £60+ for a psu?

Any opinions????

Why don't you buy an XO and build one and find out. Or build a Kwak clock.

No offence Bill, you helped me out alot with my NAD C515bee but now I've come to realise that this forum is full of trolls and 'buy mine' folk, thanks for your reply though, muchly appreciated but I've moved on to another place now so no more diya threads from me.

Peace, have fun and above all, thank you!
