Hi,

Please, I will post this link again.
Placebo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The placebo effect is not limited to medications. The issue is that we are remarkably susceptible to suggestion, the power of our minds overrides many measurable things in the subjective world.

Funnily enough, this works both ways. Allow me to post a link of my own:

Nocebo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nocebo effect is also not limited to medications.

I have no particluar comments on the effectiveness or lack there off of Bybee devices.

Dissection Photos showed at the core a device which (as remarked earlier) i have seen marketed as being alternative to ferrite based RFI blockers in a large (Farnell, RS Components etc.) electronic suppliers catalog. They had data to show better results than ferrite and where not inexpensive.

Of course I do not know if these are the devices now in Bybee products and if they are used stock or modified in any way.

Not that any particular facts seem to be of particular concern in this Witchhunt, so I guess I'll just go the rest of the crowd:

"Bring the ducking stool. See if she floats!"

"Burn her."

"Witch!"

"Burn Her!"

"Him!"

Measure it yourself. Things have improved to the point that you should be able to with the latest equipment and techniques, EXCEPT that you can't signal average, because you will remove the extra noise, along with the normal noise. After all, shouldn't virtually every quality resistor be the same, sonically? Measurements of resistor differences go very deep, maybe too deep. Especially for the people, here. Why do we WASTE our time with that? Perhaps, you have too much time on your hands, PMA. ;-)

Any microwave specialists out there?

I like to think I'm a generalist, but I have the book on dielectric resonators because it was relevant to some stuff I worked on, and I understand it while I'm reading it. It's a practical book about how to design resonators. I can design a receiver, or a patch array... or even a digital Hilbert filter; but not a power amplifier at that frequency (stuff you can build on FR4, <2.5GHz). The guy who gave it to me (JMac @ Nortel as was) worked on leading edge radio all his life, he could have written it, he was a specialist. I'm just a dilettante. In everything. I've been a refuse collector, a social worker, a lumberjack, I've been homeless and destitute and I've been in prison.

Oh, and there was a postgraduate course at Oxford in oscillator design. But that was a while ago.

However, I've got Collin's Foundations for Microwave Engineering, so there's lots I can look up.

Anyway, enough about me. Something I can help you with?
