Marantz CD-94: Fix it or sell it

If it's just loose/slipping belts I would fix it. On the other hand if I lost interest in listening to CDs, I would sell it 🙂

The belt problem is simple.

The cd turns on, but no spinning. A year ago when i wanted to hear music, after loading the cd I used to press one pcb in order to the laser pick-up start.
Today even that doesn't work.
The most funny about that situation is that in 4 diferent places here in Portugal, people told me that it was a CDM1 problem.
After 3 months i've decided it was enough. At home I reached that briliant conclusion that pressing that pcb makes the cd play!
For me it's a PCB problem, bad capacitors or resistors.
I like it very much, and it's whit me since 1999.
But now I'm stuck.
I'm an IT guy. 🙂 Electronic for me still is a very dark world.

Thanks in advance

I read somewhere that there is a typical problem on CDM-1: the 33 uF electrolytic capacitors on the laser/motor board become faulty. It might not be related to your problem but its worth a try to replace them (5 pieces I think).
