Series I and II (up to 1976) were 8 ohm drivers wired three in series and the three sets then paralleled. From Series III onward they were 1 ohm drivers all wired in series.

Yes, go get one. You can't do any wiring without knowing at least the DC resistance. Don't even try.
It's on the other side. 8 face backward and 1 forward. If you have only 8 drivers, you don't have 901's, you have an 800 series. They look similar

Yes it is if you happen to know the driver DC resistance.
Do you get at the front speaker from the front or back? the front panel does not seem to be coming off and i would hate to reuin it.
